Afhankelijk van kliniek en gekweekte verwekker kan na 1-2 weken overgestapt worden op orale behandeling, bijvoorbeeld ciprofloxacine po 750 mg 2dd.
Totale duur van antibiotische therapie is tenminste 6 weken.
