Geen behandeling, tenzij ernstige infectie.
Voor EPEC (Enteropathogene Escherichia coli), EIEC (Enteroinvasieve Escherichia coli), EAEC (Enteroaggregatieve Escherichia coli), wordt dezelfde behandeling aanbevolen als voor ETEC (Enterotoxische Escherichia coli).
Shigatoxineproducerende Escherichia coli/enterohemorragische Escherichia coli-infectie is een meldingsplichtige ziekte groep B2.
